some pics....

Here are a couple of fun pictures! The girls with Granny and Grampy, the girls at the hotel on the way to Minnesota, and a fun family picture of all of us!

We had to make a visit to the doctor today because Leecy T has come down with a cold, and we wanted to make sure the girls weren't going to need antibiotics. The doctor said their lungs are clear and hopefully this junk will pass within the next couple of days. No medicine needed! Hooray! Lainey weighs in at 8 lbs 2 oz now and Aleece is 29 lbs. So we have two healthy (for the most part!) girls. They are so fun to have in our home and we can't wait to create some more memories with all of you this holiday season! Love to everyone!

Update...

We took Madelaine to the doctor for a weight check today and she is now 7 lbs 11.5 oz. So she is growing well! Which is a major relief for me this time around! Although she is still just a little peanut of a thing! She has changed so much and it's hard to believe she is already a month old! The last month of pregnancy seems to last forever, and then once they are here, time flies! I still can't believe Aleece is almost 2 1/2! Leecy T continues to be a big helper and loves her sister so much! She continues to amaze me as well with all she knows. Today she was talking to me and used the word "breakable" several times! What 2 year olds do you know who actually use words like that! Seriously! I am so lucky to have two beautiful daughters! They both are so amazing! I couldn't be more blessed!

More pictures to come soon!

She's growing...

Little Lainey had a doctor's appointment today and she now weighs 6 pounds 13 ounces and is somewhere in the 19 inch range. We are glad she is putting on weight! Especially mommy. And Mommy is glad to be losing weight. I have already lost 19 of the 25 pounds I put on during pregnancy! Hooray! Madelaine is such a sweetheart and she loves to be cuddled, especially at night! Mom and Dad wish we could get a little more sleep but we love all the time we spend with our girls. Aleece is quick to pick up on things we say and now refers to her sister as her little Lainey bug, and she will come up to me when I am holding Lainey and say, "my two girls!" She is such a good big sister. She loves to help Mommy and she loves to hold her sister. Aleece becomes more aware of things every day and seems to grow right before our eyes. She was looking through one of our baby magazines the other day and commented to me, "look mommy, this baby's brown!" Luckily this occured at home so I could explain to her that people have different colors of skin. I would have been mortified if it had happened in public! :) Kids say the darndest things! Leecy T uses complete sentences and continues to amaze us with all she knows! Having children is such a wonderful, miraculous experience. I couldn't ask for a better job than being a mom!

Another week closer...

So I had another doctor's appointment this morning and ended up leaving the clinic a little frustrated. The good news is I am dilated 2 cm and the baby is positioned well, but she hasn't "engaged" yet which, if she doesn't, could lead to another c-section, which as you all know I don't want to do unless absolutely necessary. Don't get me wrong, I don't want anything to interfere with the baby's health, so if c-section is the only way to do that, then it will be done, no questions asked. But the doctor did say that things can change quickly, so hopefully this little pumpkin will decide she is ready soon and we will be able to welcome her into our little family. I don't think she has any idea how loved she is. She has a big sister who tells her every day, "I love you sister!" into my belly and she has parents who feel so blessed to have another choice spirit join their family and I know she has so many aunts and uncles and grandparents who already love her so much! The miracle of life is truly amazing and we feel so grateful to be able to share it with all of you! Family is everthing!

Another week...

Well, another week gone by, and I am that much closer to my due date! I had another doctor's appointment today and am excited that this little baby's position is perfect and she is 6 1/2 pounds so far! She still moves around like crazy, despite the fact that there isn't much room left for her in there. I am constantly getting knee'd or elbowed, but I love it, because it reminds me of what I am so greatly anticipating! That moment when I look into her eyes for the first time and experience my heart's emotions overflowing. She will be joining a family who already loves her very much and can't wait to meet her! We can't wait!

Any time...

So I went to the doctor yesterday and our little sweet pea is now about 6 pounds and head down, so that is a good sign! My doctor said that I am now to the point where when someone asks when I'm due, I can now respond "any time!" That's pretty exciting! Especially since this little girl is pretty far down now and is constantly against my bladder! This makes it truly difficult to go anywhere with a toddler, because if any of you have tried to use a public restroom with a toddler, well.....let's just say it isn't an easy task! That isn't the only reason I am excited to have this baby however!! I can't wait to look into her eyes and hold her for the first time! It is truly a miraculous moment that you can't really describe with words. If someone were to ask me my top ten most awesome moments, meeting my children for the first time is right up there with meeting my husband and getting married. Experiences I wouldn't trade for anything in the world!

Sometime this month...

Sometime before this month is over I will be a second time mommy. It is truly amazing all of the different emotions you feel. I am so thrilled and excited to welcome baby girl #2 into our family and I can't wait to meet her. I am nervous, because I don't want to have the same labor and delivery experience I had last time. I am happy because although I love being pregnant, I love holding my children even more, and that will occur in less than four weeks. There are far to many emotions to get into, so I guess it all boils down to this.....I love being a mommy and I wouldn't change it for anything in the world. There is no better job, no greater calling.
